Comments: www.lagunitas.com Limited Release. A Malty, Robust, Jobless Recovery Ale. We're not quite in the Red, or in the Black... Does that mean we're in the Brown? I'll be all around in the dark. I'll be ever'where, whenever you can look. Whenever there's a fight so hungry people can eat, I'll be there. Whenever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry an' they know supper's ready. An' when the people are eatin' the stuff they raise, and livin' in the houses they build. I'll be there, too. Great principles don't get lost once they come to light. They're right there. You just have to see them again. You think we're licked. They all think we're licked. Well we're not licked. And we're going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause, even if this room gets filled with lies like these; and all their armies come marching into this place. Somebody will listen. I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday we'll understand that. Now, now – Here's looking at you, kid.

    Preference: 4 (1=0 2=0 3=0 4=2 5=4)
Comments: www.livecanny.com Contains barley and wheat. Newcastle Brown Ale was originally created by Colonel Porter. Rumour has it that the Colonel had a penchant for biscuits but then couldn't find anything to quench his thirst, so he spent three years perfecting his perfect ale before launching in 1927. In 1928 Newcastle Brown Ale swept the boards at the prestigious Internal Brewery Awards. The gold medals from these awards are still featured on the label along with the blue star; the five points of the star represent the five foundng breweries of Newcastle. As it turned out, our plucky brewer wasn't the only Tyneside hero in 1927 - for in the same year he launched his new ale, Newcastle United romped home to win the league - a thirsty and jubilant Toon Army needed to toast their good fortune. The Colonel's delicious chilled broon bubbly turned out to be just the job. Newcastle Brown Ale quickly established itself as the favourite brew in England's North East and continued to grow between the 1930's and 1960's becoming particularly popular with the hard working folk in the shipbuilding, mining and steel industries. Rumour has it, our brown ale was the favourite tipple to refresh the workers after a long, hard day as it was cleaner and more rewarding than tap water! Colonel Porter's ale was so perfect that he needed the perfect glass to serve it in. He commissioned the now famous Schooner Glass and the rest is history. The size and shape of the Schooner Glass is perfectly designed to keep the beer lively, the head tighter, the ale refreshingly cool, and is still the best way to enjoy Newcastle Brown Ale. The reputation of this unique drink soon spread beyond our shores and Newcastle Brown Ale is now so popular it is exported to over 40 countries worldwide and is the most popular imported beer in the US. The One and Only.

Comments: www.utopianbrewing.com, www.yeastieboys.co.nz American Brown Ale. Dark Orange Cocoa Happy. Ingredients: water, malted barley, hops, cacao husk, yeast. Vegan. Dream Sequence is a gently hopped American Brown Ale with a decadent twist. Four malts and a dose of flaked oats build us a smooth base for this modern-style Brown Ale. Ariana, Comet and Crystal hops add a delicate fruit salad character, behind the scenes, while the big aromatic twist comes in the form of cacao husk and nibs from Sheffield’s brilliant Bullion Chocolate. Yeastie Boys is the world’s smallest multinational brewery - founded in New Zealand and now also brewing in Australia and the UK (all without its own brewery). The brainchild of Stu McKinlay and Sam Possenniskie - two of New Zealand’s leading beer activists and visionaries - the Yeastie Boys have been brewing deliciously irreverent ales, picking up trophies, innovating, poking their tongues out at convention, and receiving critical acclaim since the launch in 2008. Comments: www.weyerbacher.com At Weyerbacher we have created a Winter Ale that is a must for any malty beer lover. Winner of a Silver Medal in the 1998 World Beer Championships, Weyerbacher Winter Ale is brewed with deep-roasted chocolate malt. The taste predominates with a warm, roasty flavor, balanced out with a slightly dry finish. It is smooth but not cloying, with a warming belt of alcohol (5.6% ABV). Although winter ales predate history, they are believed to have their origin in the pagan celebrations of winter solstice. Later, when monasteries produced the local brew, winter ales were made each year to commemorate the birth of Christ. Back then, winter ales were brewed full-bodied as a source of nutrition for the upcoming winter months. Today, winter ales are typified by their seasonality, their rich, malty flavors and by their deep, dark coloration. Generally available November-March, Weyerbacher Winter Ale is the perfect libation for a winter meal, with good friends, or beside a warm fire fending off a cold winter night.
