  1. Beer: La Trappe Trappist Dubbel 6.5% (bottle)
    Type: Trappist Double Beer
    Strength: 6.5%
    Brewer: Brouwerij de Koningshoeven
    Country: Netherlands

    Preference: 4 (1=1 2=0 3=0 4=1 5=2)
Comments: www.latrappetrappist.com La Trappe Dubbel has a deep, reddish brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it. La Trappe Trappist is pure, honest, Dutch ale. If you taste good, you will discover what it is to enjoy. And discovers the most important ingredient that is inextricably linked to the monks: silence.

Comments: www.mountsaintbernard.org Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, hops, yeast. Brewed by the monks of Mount Saint Bernard Abbey. With this beer we have returned toa 19th century tradition of brewing in our abbey. When our brethren arrived in 1835 they settled in a poor cottage on Tynt Meadow, now an extension of our monastic enclosure. This strong Dark Ale referments in the bottle. Pour gently at 9C. Unfiltered English Trappist Ale Strong ale brewed by the monks of Mount Saint Bernard Abbey, Charnwood Forest. Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate. Tynt Meadow is brewed with English barley and hops, using an English strain of yeast. It is twice-fermented, with the first fermentation taking place in the tank, and the second in the bottle. It should be stored in a cool, dark, quiet place. 'Beer should be liquid bread, not coloured water.’ - Belgian Trappist saying.
